I run a whole bunch of devices through this remote, and it's so simple to program, too. I was looking to replace it, and ran across the 700 - even better! Same remote, but nice USB recharging. I've had a few Harmony remotes, and I have gotten used to the layout of the 650. Great upgrade from the 650 with rechargeable battery! So anyone who buys this remote better have a few computers as a back up. Did I mention there is no mention of compatibility problems with window anywhere. To me that make their remote worthless to a lot of window7 users. If the software doesn't work the remote is worthless. The problem is that on Window 7圆4 the software will not completely load so that you can program the remote, I spent more than an hour on the phone with Logitech support personnel and the best they could come up with as to why I continue to get a application fail to load and is shutting down on two different computer running windows 7 is to call Microsoft because there is some type of security in my installs that's preventing the software from loading., That may not seem bad until you consider that as far back as 2007 people running window 7 were having the exact same issue with the software failing to completely load, you would think after all that time with this issue they would have pinpoint ed the cause of this issue and not tell you to go to Microsoft for the solution. Using the remote itself requires getting familiar with the controls and displays, but is not difficult. Overall, programming was easy and the normal function assignments were fine for my applications. However, once I established the exact name for the input, I was able to add it to the i/o list for the receiver and program it for the CD music function of my CD/DVD player. The only deviation was not having an optical audio input listed for my Pioneer Elite receiver. Once this was accomplished, everything went smoothly, adding devices and programming i/o's. This is something that new users should know, as it is not explained in the Harmony program. I then went to options in Google, and found that I had to activate an option in Google for the program to work. The website indicated that some firewalls might prevent the software from operating, so disabled them with no change. Initially, I ran into a problem with the software allowing me to register, then saying "stop and save". I received the Harmony 700 remote and explored the website before attempting to program it. Good remote and easy to use, but programming software has some tricks
